Volunteer Abroad
Freeport Wildlife Conservation Project
S-Trip! invites travelers to make a positive impact internationally during grad trip through sustainable development and community projects. Our goal is to become North America’s largest overseas volunteer program by getting all high school graduates on a volunteer project.
Did you Know?
- Tourism and tourism-driven construction and manufacturing account for 60% of GDP and employ half of the archipelago's labor force.
- The livelihoods of so many people are dependent on the beautiful islands and seas, but the natural resources on which The Bahamas rely so much are under pressure from overfishing and coastal development.
- If the sea level rises some five feet, 80% of the country's land would disappear.
Eco Conservation
The Bahamas is one of the wealthiest nations in the Caribbean, but the country still faces issues like hunger, poverty, and environmental degradation across its many islands. Spend a half day giving back to a local initiative contributing to a children's shelter or a community center.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by friendly staff and community members who will give you a brief history and explanation of the project you will be working on. Then we’ll dive right in to the work! Get ready for an incredible day that will leave you with a new appreciation for the local Bahamian efforts.
Check out this blog post about the great work our travelers did on the most recent Grand Bahamas trip!
This trip made me want to attempt more volunteer activities because the impact on the community is far greater than I would have ever expected.Cody Richards, Student
