It is a pleasure for us to once again reaffirm our commitment in regards to water safety in the Dominican Republic. For the fourth year running, the Office of the Embassy of Canada in Punta Cana with the support of the volunteer instructors from the Royal Nova Scotia Lifesaving Society will be offering its Lifesaving Program free of charge for the participants. This program aims to train tourism industry employees in water rescue techniques and first aid. To date, over 200 adults and 40 children in Punta Cana and a total of 600 people in the Dominican Republic have participated in our programs and the number of lives that have been impacted is immeasurable.
As in past years, this program would not be possible without the support of our sponsors. To date, the following companies have confirmed their sponsorship:
- Royal Nova Scotia Lifesaving Society
- Occidental Grand Punta Cana
- Go Golf Tours
- Macao Surf Camp
- S-Trip!
- Centro Médico Punta Cana
The Punta Cana portion will take place from October 7-18, 2013 at the Occidental Grand Punta Cana. For more information and sign-ups, please write to sdmgo.consul@international.gc.ca . Sign-ups close on September 6th.
