S-Trip! Destination: Authentic Cuba, Varadero, Cuba
March Break 2017
This March Break, the passengers that joined us in Varadero returned to one of our favourite places - Proyecto Sociocultural Maravillas de la Infancia Cultivador de Sueños - a community centre in Versalles. An all-star Trip Leader, Christine, has joined us on our Volunteer Experience for several seasons. Check out her reflection on the time she has spent there below.

Christine hard at work alongside some awesome travelers and dedicated community members!
""That's my friend!" screamed Yani when I walked in. Quickly, I gave her a tight hug and a beso on the cheek. I've known them for about a year now. They've given me one-on-one salsa lessons four times already because one lesson isn't enough for my two left feet. All thanks to this talented bunch, not even language barrier can stop us now from stirring up a storm on the dance floor! Volunteering abroad not only builds relationships but it also unites two different cultures. It connects us together as one. And as one, we create something beautiful. Volunteering (abroad) teaches you to love a community - a family - other than your own. I'm awfully blessed to have a #jobofalifetime that allows me to travel, to work with youth, and most importantly, to create long lasting relationships such as this. ¡Amor y esperanza, mis amigos!"

As always, the dance performance and lessons were a big hit on our Volunteer Experience in Versalles! Dance is such a great way to learn about another culture.
Our volunteer programs are not possible without the energy and enthusiasm of our staff, and of course the curiosity and excitement of our travelers! Many thanks to all of you for helping us to make a difference in the communities that we visit.
