Language and Cultural Immersion program in Barcelona is designed for students who are interested in the Spanish language, art, culture and cuisine. While living in Barcelona you’ll experience the Spanish way of life tasting traditional fare at a local tapas bar, dancing in the streets, listening to Catalan music and enjoying the liveliness that the Spanish culture radiates.
Our program balances Spanish language classes, cultural workshops and a full schedule of structured activities and excursions. Students and staff live together in a superbly appointed residence. Each day is your opportunity to ignite your passions as you discover and explore the Spanish lifestyle while wandering the streets of Barcelona. LIFE IN BARCELONANestled along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is one of the most beautiful and energizing cities in the world. There is an endless list of attractions including a city centre which retains its medieval street plan; one of the world's most famous streets, some amazing modernist architecture including several buildings by Gaudi, Spain's most famous architect; dozens of museums including one dedicated to Picasso, another to Miró and yet another to Barcelona's world famous football club, Barça! Barcelona is almost as animated at night as it is during the day and it has a unique, exciting atmosphere. Enjoy art festivals, street parties, live music, and endless street markets while you live it up in this fantastic city.

CULTURAL IMMERSION
S-Trip! recognizes that just as much learning takes place outside the classroom as inside, which is why we organize a full schedule of cultural activities and excursions. Each day your knowledge of Spanish history and culture will grow as you explore a new neighbourhood, enjoy a city tour, visit Park Güell, marvel at Sagrada Familia and see the Picasso Museum. On weekends you'll have the opportunity to experience all that Spain has to offer as you travel to other cities outside of Barcelona. You'll be absolutely blown away on your visit to Montserrat, the majestic mountain top monastery in Catalonia, Spain. Put on your dancing shoes for everyone's favourite Flamenco dance lesson. All students will participate in a hands-on culinary workshop. In this workshop, you will use local products to prepare a variety of traditional Spanish dishes, and you will learn how food relates to the Spanish lifestyle and culture.
CAMPUS LIFE
Our Barcelona school is a truly multicultural setting that will excite, challenge and stretch any student's palette. The locale of the school offers a diverse environment for international students to dramatically improve their Spanish language skills with the best teachers in Barcelona. Located in the heart of central Barcelona, the school is within walking distance from Las Ramblas, the University, cultural centers and much more. Not only is the location amazing, the school is also well equipped with a variety facilities such as 50 classrooms with audio-visual equipment, gorgeous terraces including a solarium terrace open all year round, computer labs with free internet access, Wi-Fi throughout the school and a spacious modern library. Campus is a constant buzz of activity with many young enthusiastic students, making it the ideal place to socialize and meet new friends from all over the world.
LANGUAGE PROGRAM
Our intensive Spanish classes will give you the skills and confidence to immerse in the local culture. The academic program consists of 4 hours of Spanish language lessons each weekday from 9.00-1.00. On arrival in Barcelona, students are given a classification test which determines their level of Spanish and their subsequent class. Courses are taught in Spanish by local instructors. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required. Pragmatic active teaching methods are used to develop the students’ oral skills and their linguistic and cultural knowledge with emphasis on oral expression and comprehension. Teaching tactics include illustrations, situational role play, videos, analysis of current newspapers and magazines and creative exercises. The program is accredited by the Spanish education ministry. Students receive a certificate recognizing their achievement and a transcript. Students are eligible to receive university credit in Canada. In order to transfer their credit students must make an appeal for transfer with their university registrar by presenting their certificate and course materials. S-Trip! will assist students in completing this process.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is centrally located and within walking distance of the school. Students are in a student residence in double rooms. Each room has a bed, desk and adequate storage space for all their belongings. Security and safety is our number one priority. Therefore, residence staff are available and on supervision 24 hours a day. Students are also supervised by S-Trip! group leaders who are fluent in Spanish, live in the residence with the students and organize various activities for the group. Group leaders are there to ensure health and safety but also to act as advisors and friends helping you adjust to your new environment. Breakfast and dinner are provided everyday in the residence cafeteria. Meals are prepared by an experienced culinary team.Language Program
